This is the “family selection” of Sangiovese from 40 year old vines, and a powerful, rich, fullbodied and complex wine it is!
Three weeks’ maceration on the skins and 18 months' ageing in a 500 litre oak barrel bring out the best in the grapes for a dark ruby red wine that encompasses many nuances of scents and flavours, mainly red berries and ripe red fruit, tobacco and leather and a hint of cocoa with a nicely balsamic texture. All of it is carried by well-balanced tannins and the correct level of acidity. It is intriguing in its depth, so prepare yourself for new discoveries with every sip.
